A PDO (polydioxanone) thread lift is a non-surgical lifting procedure that uses absorbable medical sutures to mechanically reposition soft tissue and stimulate collagen formation along the thread path. The threads themselves dissolve over 6–8 months; the collagen scaffold they leave behind is what holds the lift in place for the next 12–18 months. It is not a face lift, and we will not pretend otherwise — if your case really needs a surgical face lift, we'll tell you at the consultation and refer you to a plastic surgeon.

The right candidate has early-to-moderate facial laxity: mild jowling, midface descent, jawline blurring, brow ptosis. Most clients are between 30 and 55. Below that age range, a thread lift is usually unnecessary; above it, the lift may not deliver enough correction. At Skin Essentials, Dr. JC Hers personally performs every thread-lift session, uses FDA-Philippines-approved PDO threads from established suppliers, and selects between mono-threads (collagen stimulation), screw threads (volume), and cog/barbed threads (mechanical lift) based on what your anatomy actually needs.

A session takes 60–90 minutes including topical numbing and the procedure itself. Downtime is real but contained: mild swelling and slight bruising at the insertion points settle in 3–7 days for most clients, with 1 week being the safer buffer for social events. Cost at Skin Essentials starts at ₱15,000 for a localised lift and runs ₱25,000–35,000 for a full lower-face lift, depending on how many threads and which thread profile.
